The aim of this project was to produce a guide that compiles all the good practices in the fishing sector that enable shipowners to improve their internal management.
The Guide of good practices: towards sustainable and responsible fishing, included in the 2017 Production and Marketing Plan, was created to compile and promote the good practices of the Lugo Fisheries Producers’ Organisation in social, environmental, labour, activity and marketing terms. Its main objective is that the members of the Lugo OPP reach the commitment to carry out a sustainable practice of fishing activity at all levels: environmental, social and economic, being a useful tool for the fishing fleet of the Lugo OPP to embody the commitments and responsibilities that good management of the activity entails.
This Guide aims to develop a culture of good fishing practices and promote the good standards of fishing conduct that are being carried out, reinforcing the commitment to quality and continuous improvement of the OPP Lugo fleet.
As a final complement, all these contents compiled in the Guide of good practices: towards sustainable and responsible fishing will contribute to the elaboration of technical sheets of good practices on the main working recommendations.
